“We’ve come a long way since we first broke ground on our stadium in December, 2008,” reflected Philadelphia Union Chairman and Majority Owner Jay Sugarman. “Now, as we continue to build and grow, we’re proud to welcome Power Home Remodeling into the Philadelphia Union family.
The 16,500 square foot indoor facility includes a weight training area, physical therapy and sports science development area, nutrition center, locker rooms, state of the art video theatre and a players’ lounge. The Power Training Complex also houses the offices for Philadelphia Union coaches and support staff. The Power Training Complex is one of the most unique and intimate training facilities within Major League Soccer, designed to optimize player development.
The facility’s boot room has the capacity to hold 128 pairs of boots.
The player lounge features a pool table, video game consoles, three TVs and comfortable seating, all next to the state-of-the-art team meeting room/theatre and a nutrition suite where players are served two meals each day.
Players spend time relaxing and recovering in the hydrotherapy suite with contrast baths (hot tubs and ice baths), an underwater treadmill, showers, and an infrared sauna.
Flanking the weight training area are a sports science suite and a locker room. The facility houses 46 lockers in total, 32 for players, seven for coaches and seven for training/equipment.
